Last semester I had quite a few modules although I think I just enjoy design process and practice and image processing but that might be just my affinity to the Adobe Suite. My biggest accomplishments last semester was realising when I was overwhelmed and deferred one of my modules which was a big relief to the workload I had to over come that semester. My goals for this module is to create a piece I feel genuinely passionate for which will cause working on it to feel like play and not work.
Over the break I took part in a game jam which is uploaded to icth.io (https://itch.io/jam/alternate-genre-jam/rate/1104499) I mainly handled the texturing and the graphics for the UI but it still was fun seeing the game come to life!
One of my favoite movies is Inside
out, its one of the few films for me that always gets me crying no matter how
many times I rewatch but that might be because it’s a Pixar film.
My favourite music often shifts and changes thanks to the
youtube algorithm and sometimes I don’t even realised where the music comes
from one of these examples is Cecily Smith by Will Connolly and Michael Mitnick.
Its just so happy and tells a story to keep me hopeful! <iframe

My current goals is to complete my 4 year
course and figure out from here to their which career path I want to pursue my
only other goal beyond that is to live contently.
I have a cat called Ahsoka she’s named after a character from star wars, she was a stray we took in when one night she jumped through the window and started to eat my brother’s dinner. She’s a short haired British tuxedo cat and the vets love her and her little moustache
Hi, Eimier! I just wanted to say how impressed I am with your drawings and your knowledge about technology. I noticed that last year when we were studying online - you always knew answers to the tech problems. Also last week you were sitting next to me and I could not help but notice the drawing you created during the lecture. Very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteWell done on the game, you were involved making, and I am sure you will enjoy your Multimedia Dev course
Really cool introduction, it's really interesting to hear about your game jam and Ahsoka, I love her little moustache :), it's also nice to know I'm not the only one who has music preferences change because of that loathed YouTube algorithm! I seen your drawing before on your individual pitch for Group Project Phase 1 however I still gotta say they're really cool and I hope I can see more in the future.
ReplyDeleteHey Eimear! In love with Ahsoka! and love the introduction always great to learn more about others! the drawings are really cool as I can can barely draw a stick person
ReplyDeleteHeyo. im so in love with your cat but you already know that. You're art is awesome and i look forward to seeing more of them throughout the year. I'll help doodle in your sketch book too haha. It's great that you enjoyed design process and practice because i did not. I wanted to burn my laptop because of it or maybe its just illustrator to blame
ReplyDeleteHey Eimear, Love the blog, you really put a lot of effort into styling it. I have to get you to show me how to do it! Well done in getting into second year. I think it was a big accomplishment for all of us as it was hard going studying online all last year. I love your cat's moustache, omg so cute. It was great learning this little bit about you
ReplyDeleteKevin
Hey Eimear, love the intro and glad to get to know you better. I'm glad you made the right decision to defer a module and look after yourself, self care is important! I love Inside Out, its so wholesome and a great story. Your artwork is so so good you're really talented, and of course your cat is so cute.
ReplyDeleteHey Eimear, I can't get over how cute Ahsoka is and how she's named after the best Star Wars character ever. It's so cool that you got to do game jam, my friends and I are thinking of maybe taking part next year. I'd love any advice if you have some
ReplyDeleteHi Caira, the best advice for doing a game jam with your freinds is to make sure to ask them for help in you code problems cause you cant always see them, and also to vibe check your homies incase they sit their struggling while too stubbern to ask for help ^^
DeleteHey Eimear, first of all your cat looks awesome ! I absolutely loveeee cats xd. I think your drawings look cool too, I see you drawing all the time so I feel like that is one of your passions for sure ! I hope you get to finish your whole course and be happy by the end of it and know what you will want to be after college and make your dreams happen !
ReplyDeleteHi Eimear
ReplyDeleteFirst things first I love the drawings wish I could be as skilled as you thanks to illustrator I can CTRL-Z my way back through my own mistakes. Its great that you have a cat and all so you do like animals but dogs are so much better. Can't wait to see what work you'll produce this year
Good Luck!!
Hi Eimear!
ReplyDeleteLoved reading your introduction, I am the same when it comes to one of my goals. How you ended up owning your cat is the cutest story ever omg hahah. Your drawing skills are unreal! I remember seeing pieces of your work online last year and was blown away :0
Hi Eimear!! I’m here to comment on your introduction post today!! Yay!!
ReplyDeleteI’m glad that you got through year 1 of our course! It was definitely a challenge. But at least you enjoyed using the adobe apps!! They're cool.
I'm also surprised that you managed to take part in a a game jam over the summer. That must have been some challenge! You did get it done in the end though! Good job!
Also you have a funky cat!!
Anyways, I hope you enjoy year 2 of college!
Hi Eimear I really like your blog post. I also really enjoy design process and practice as well as I felt I learned a lot of new skills that I hadn't known before. I really like your cat and its name is very cute and I like the pictures that you added especially the one of her on top of the fridge.
ReplyDeleteHello Eimear,
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late post I know this was on the beginning of October,
but I really enjoyed reading through your introduction I don't even know where to start so I can see in last semester you enjoyed design process and practise and you were enjoying using a Derby suit I did not know you deferred one of your modules and I'm glad that you have passed to the next year I don't know what you mean by in a game jam but it sounds interesting I also loved inside out movie not a lot of people love cartoonish films or animation I also have weird music taste sometimes YouTube algorithm helps me with recommendation of music and the more I click on music the more different genre music comes up you are also having a four year course which I also applied for and your car is very cute I don't know how to pronounce her name as sober I really love your drawing sketch for dXd my brother also plays THAT game. I wish I can draw digital art but it's time consuming and you need to know how to do different types of shading. would like the colours.
Judy
Hey Eimear,
ReplyDeleteWow that game looks so cool and so cute especially the tank. Omg this means Unity is easier for you than for the rest of us 😭. I really hope you goals come true. I love your cat she is the true star of this blog. Ahsoka is such a beautiful name also I LOVE her eyes. Love this post and don’t forget to keep slaying.
Hi Eimear!
ReplyDeleteThose drawings that you did are really good! Did you use Illustrator to make that? Because it looks like you already have a good bit of experience already before coming to CDM :). I can relate a lot to your situation because of the huge workload when deferring some modules, I deferred a few for the summer and that was not enjoyable at all. This is a great introduction post and a great read! :)
